W&S starts the 2017 season with a new partner

They have completed countless laps of the "Nordschleife" of the Nürburgring in recent years. Whether training or racing, ever since W&S Motorsport was founded in 2010, all through the racing season the two managing directors Patrick Wagner and Daniel Schellhaas have spent their weekends in this "green hell".

The two have been consistently improving their racing skills as well as developing additional services for their company to offer the motor racing industry. As well as driving and supporting racing cars, vehicle bodies and conversions, and building special constructions and prototypes, the team also organises motorsports events on the famous race course in Germany's Eifel region. GEDORE became the official sponsor at the opening of the 2017 season, and now supports this young motorsports specialist with quality tools "Made in Germany".

W&S Motorsport and Four Motors: Bio in tank – and in body

The VLN season 2018 starts with a highly exciting development for W&S Motorsport and GEDORE: As of now, W&S Motorsport will be entering the long-distance championship in collaboration with the sustainable team Four Motors with the message "Team CARE FOR CLIMATE®" and no fewer than three vehicles. W&S Motorsport and Four Motors have been involved with furthering sustainable innovations in motorsports since 2013.

The races attended with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport and Porsche Cayman 981 on Nürburgring weekends leave little time for other events in the calendar. At the events, the two W&S managing directors Daniel Schellhaas and Patrick Wagner and their team of mechanics are responsible for the team's technical all-round carefree package, while Daniel Schellhaas also pilots the team's GT3 around the Nordschleife.

Even in the light of this heavy workload, when it came to the decision regarding the further collaboration with Four Motors, there was no contest. W&S Motorsport intends to make the most of this opportunity to work more closely with the trailblazers in green motorsports, and in particular with the Fanta 4 front man Smudo.

The well-known racing driver and sustainability ambassador Smudo has been working with the EX-DTM pilot and head of the team Thomas von Löwis of Menar ever since he started his motorsports career in 2000. Four Motors takes its responsibility towards future generations seriously, and since 2005 has been using sustainable technology in its specially configured racing vehicles, and testing their suitability for series production under the toughest conditions on the Nürburgring. The task that faces the team: sustainability in racing sports with innovative bio concept cars. Four Motors develops a new bio concept car every two to three years under the guidance of Thomas von Löwis. The development of low-emission drive solutions and the use, whenever possible, of sustainable lubricants, fuels and materials are key factors in the team's concept.

Endurance championship

The drivers of W&S Motorsport will be taking part in the nine races organised by the organising body of the Endurance Cup Nürburgring (VLN) .

At over 20 km, the Nürburgring combination of grand prix track and Nordschleife is one of the most challenging and longest race tracks in the world. A distance can take between four and six hours. The Porsche Cayman 981 competes in the nine VLN races in the near-serial class with a cubic capacity of up to three litres (V5). The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport appear in the Alternative Fuels (AT) class for greater sustainability.

International 24-hour race

At one of the world's biggest motorsports events, the international 24-hour race with around 180 vehicles and up to 200,000 visitors, the CARE FOR CLIMATE® team uses the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport. In 2018 the drivers achieved a double win in the AT class and sensational overall placements at 27 (GT3) and 33 (GT4).

GEDORE quality for the fleet

Ensuring the vehicle's full power is on the asphalt with absolute precision calls for regular services, technical expertise and the use of quality tools. GEDORE's support for W&S includes a fully-equipped mobile workbench 1506 XL, screwdriver and socket sets, and all kinds of tools for automotive use.

The racing team's fleet has plenty to offer. During the race, Daniel Schellhaas, Axel Duffner, Thomas von Löwis and Smudo are at the wheel of the 485 hp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport with a good 400 hp is driven around the Nordschleife by Thomas Kiefer and Charlie Eastwood. Daniel Blickle and Niklas Steinhaus race the Porsche Cayman 981 and its 275 hp around the track. The sides of all three vehicles bear the GEDORE logo.

„Thanks to GEDORE's support, we can be sure of achieving the best performance in the workshop, on the pit lane and on the track.“
